We're reliving the real beginning of our rest...

And so to Melbourne, Doncaster to be exact; a storm following us across Bass Strait so that we set up in rain and weather and took three or four days to dry out tarps and towels and get accustomed to showers again after many days of bush camping...

But soon the travelling Woodleys spent some enjoyable time catching up with Miss Jeisman at a awfully fun playground next to a peaceful river right in the middle of suburbia (the kids finding it immensely to their liking)...

...next a picnic lunch with cousins Mr and Mrs Schroeder (where a week visit is arranged!); followed by an overnight catch up with special friends Mr and Mrs Monaghan...

...and managing to avoid too many bites from these fellows...

...cheered us up ready for fun for all in the
(quite verging on chilly) pool...

...and good times were had by big kids as well as the little ones when we had our next visitors, Mr and Mrs Quast...

...including a city day for two grown up sisters
(and how lovely, they hire wheelchairs out inexpensively if you have very recently had a knee reconstruction!)...

...and so on to our recently planned week's stay at cousin Schroeder's farm near Seymour - which incidentally backed onto the Goulburn river...

...hours of horsy fun; feeding them, attempting to ride them, and generally loving being pseudo-farmers...

...along with many other varieties of fun including - but not limited to - party games, eight ball, playing with big (Great Dane) and little (Jack Russell) dogs, dress ups, fishing, and family rides...

{Nick was pretty stoked to get a ride on cousin Mr Schroeder's new Suzuki Gladius 650 motorbike}

...altogether, and with no activities off the farm [except for Nick as he arranged for new airbag suspension to be fitted to the car] the travelling Woodleys had a lovely sunny, calm, and completely relaxing start to our second quarter of the year...

And onward to our miracle house at St Andrew's Beach...

...where being in such a 'lovely' house merited
playing lots of 'lovely' ladies...

...and the rainy weather brought about much imaginative play...

...a walk in the Mornington Peninsula National Park
brought Renee to this...

...while the temporary clearing of weather allowed us to explore the calm north-west side of the peninsula...

...as opposed to the wild south-east side where Nick introduced the kids to the sport of cliff jumping...

...and someone amused himself exploring the seaside...

...along with a rainy day visit for Renee to
the original Arthur's Seat homestead...

...while this blessing of a house was finally where beautiful little Aravis started taking more than three steps at a time...

postscript: Daddy had his first surf here since Ocean Grove... and yes, world wide web, sometime you will hear all about his surfs (one thing at a time!)...

  3. Thank you, family!

Yes, after two hundred and fifty millilitres in forty eight hours and being cut off north and south for a few days, we have now had a few days of glorious north coast sunshine and all is clear for us to head north to Byron Bay tomorrow!

Looking forward to the increasingly warmer weather as we travel northwards...

    Blessings, Renee
